Piccyfix Free Photo, Picture and Image Hosting

Welcome to a new Piccyfix trial feature - FREE picture hosting for our Piccyfix editor users.

Free Picture Hosting saves you the hassle of uploading your picture for fixing into Piccyfix, downloading the fixed version to your computer, then re-uploading to another site, then adding the link to it. eg. MySpace.

If you keep getting upload MySpace errors because the picture, image or photo is too big.. just let Piccyfix take the strain, and host the image for you. Piccyfix doesn't put unreasonable limits on the image size you can upload.

At the end of Piccyfix wizard, just take the hosting link we give you for your fixed piccy and paste it into your web page. Then whenever the web page requests the picture, we serve it up for you.

How long does hosting last, and are there any limits ?

Hosting of any given picture will last as long as Piccyfix continue to provide a free hosting service, so long as the hosted picture is accessed (eg. by a web page) at least every 30 days.

After any 30 consecutive days of not being accessed, the link expires, and the picture is deleted. In place of the picture, you will see an advert for Piccyfix.

If this happens you are free to upload and re-host the picture again at any time, and replace the expired link with the fresh new link you get at the end of the Piccyfix wizard.

There is currently NO registration, or any other absolute usage limits, but our Terms and Conditions page says that this is for personal, reasonable use only.

It is intended for personal pages (eg. MySpace, Friendster etc.), and should not be used on public forums that have heavy usage.

Although there are no absolute limits, if your usage of hosted pictures affects our servers (eg. too many requests slowing down other people's hosted images at peak times), your images will be deleted without warning.

Please read the terms and conditions if you are in any doubt, or Contact Us if you have any specific questions.

What types and sizes of Photos, Images and Pictures can be hosted ?

You can upload up to 8 Megapixel photos in .bmp, .gif, .jpg, .png formats into the Piccfix Editor.

Piccyfix FREE Photo Hosting only allows storage of .jpg, .png and .gif formats, but not .bmp (windows bitmap, which should not be used to serve pictures to web pages anyway).

If you choose the Hosting option from the home page, although you can upload .bmp format, if you don't choose another format, it will automatically be converted to .jpg format for hosting.

Piccyfix will always force you to go through the Size/Resize page and offer acceptable hosting sizes before generating the final picture. In doing so, this ensures that the final picture size ito be hosted is small enough to be served up quickly to the web page asking for it.

Typically, you won't be allowed to generate picture dimensions that would look visibly out of place in a MySpace page.

How private are Piccyfix Hosted pictures ?

Just like all public picture hosting sites, Not at all! Hosting is at your own risk.

As soon as you have hit the Generate and Host button, the picture is publicly available on the internet for anyone to see.

Please also see our Security and Privacy page.

Can I delete a picture that I have uploaded and hosted?

Please note there is NO way for you to go into Piccyfix to delete a hosted picture.

This is because without registration (which we deliberately avoid because it is a pain), there's no way you can prove that you were the person that uploaded it.

So, if in doubt, please don't use the hosting feature.

You can however let an picture expire and get deleted naturally. All you need to do is to remove all links to the picture (so it never gets accessed), then the link will expire and then the picture will be deleted automatically after 30 consecutive days as described above.

Are Piccyfix Hosted pictures watermarked in any way ?

No. Our logo or watermark doesn't appear anywhere on the picture itself.

The hosting link we give you will show your picture in your web page, and if anyone clicks on that picture, Piccyfix.com will load in a new browser window.
