If I supply my email address in the contact details, how will it be used ?
Your email address will ONLY be used to send a response to your query or problem. It won't be passed on to any anyone else, for any reason. In short, your privacy will be respected.
Can other people see the pictures when I am fixing them ? Can I see theirs ?
Under normal circumstances your images will remain private. It would take a hacker or someone deliberately trying to guess the image name used for your uploaded image (which is possible, but unlikely) for someone else to see it.
YOU SHOULD NOT USE THIS SITE IF YOU NEED TO GUARANTEE THE CONFIDENTIALITY AND PRIVACY OF YOUR IMAGES.
This site cannot be held responsible for legal action against it
How long do my uploaded pictures stay on the PiccyFix server ?
It depends whether you choose to Host the image with us or not.
If you don't ask us to host the picture, it will automatically be deleted (usually) within an hour of the final image being generated. You can delete it sooner by clicking on the I've Finished/Remove link at the top of every page.
If on the other hand we do host the picture for you, it will be available for as long as Piccyfix continue to provide free hosting. BUT if a picture isn't accessed (ie loaded into a web page somewhere) for any 30 days in a row, the link will expire and the image will be deleted.
There is no automatic deletion or expiry of images that are put in the Piccyfix Gallery.
Are the Gallery Pictures and Hosted Pictures private in any way?
Not at all - they're completely public, and anyone can view them. For the Gallery, this includes the Nickname and Caption you give the picture. So please don't supply anything that could identify you. eg. by putting your full name in the Nickname field.
Does PiccyFix use the uploaded/fixed images for any other purpose other than fixing them ? eg. selling the best ones.
No. You (or whoever owns the copyright) retains the copyright. So we're not allowed to. Uploading files onto PiccyFix gives PiccyFix no rights whatsoever over the images - other than you have given Piccyfix permission to fix them. And nothing more. You (or the copyright holder) retain the rights of the 'fixed' image too. You upload the original, we fix it, you download the fixed version, you remove all files. It's that simple.
Please read the Terms and Conditions of using this site if you are not sure whether you own the image that you are uploading. Just as this site is not allowed to copy or use your images, you are not allowed to copy other peoples.
Does Piccyfix use Cookies to keep track of what I'm going?
Not persistent cookies (ie cookies that hang around after your have closed your browser). So we don't track you in any way. We do use what are called 'session cookies' which are needed to hold state information from one page to the next while you're using the wizard. But these disappear when you close the browser. So you can disable persistent cookies in your browser, and Piccyfix will work fine.
